When it comes to fitness, the Web is littered (make that saturated) with subjective opinion, sweeping generalizations and lots (lots!) of hype.
I’m a strong believer in evidence-based content… content that is backed up by real and credible scientific research. That’s why you’ll see a list of references at the bottom of many of my articles.
In simple terms – the golf fitness information you read on this site is NOT just my personal opinion. It’s the conclusion of sports scientists around the world… scientists who don’t have ulterior motives, that aren’t trying to sell you a fancy training aid and that aren’t in the back pockets of a large golf equipment or supplement companies.
I believe I’m qualified and experienced to talk with authority about getting fit – for sport, for golf and for life in general. Here are my credentials:
I hold a 1st Class Honours Degree in Sport & Exercise Science and I’m a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) – like a personal trainer but for sports men and women.
I hold qualifications from the British Olympic Weightlifting Association and I’m a Certified Personal Trainer.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a wide range of people from very different ends of the fitness spectrum – not just athletes. As an Exercise Physiologist in the NHS I helped patients recovering from major heart surgery and with severe respiratory disease.
I own one of the most heavily visited sports fitness sites on the Internet catering for more than 6 million people a month. It’s also the number #1 ranked website for “golf fitness”.
